Larissa Bonnet, an experienced educator from Sheridan, is joining Casper College’s student services as the school’s new dean of students. She will begin her new role on July 14.
According to Corey Peacock, Ph.D., vice president of student services, Bonnet was selected following a national search that produced three finalists. Each finalist spent a day at the college, participated in a full-day interview, met with various stakeholder groups, including students, and delivered a presentation at an open forum.
“We had a very competitive search process with three outstanding finalists. Ultimately, Larissa’s background and experience made her the ideal choice for this student-focused role,” Peacock said. “Larissa is a seasoned student affairs professional who is highly respected in the Wyoming higher education community. I look forward to working with her to provide comprehensive support to Casper College students,” Peacock added.
Bonnet, who grew up in Sheridan, holds an Associate of Arts in elementary education from Sheridan College, a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts from Mesa State College, and a Master of Arts in counseling and human services from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in education with a specialization in organizational leadership and management from Grand Canyon University.
After graduating from UCCS in 2005, Bonnet was named coordinator of campus programs and the campus center at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. When she left the school in January 2010, she was the associate director of campus programs, the campus center, and off-campus student services.
She returned to Sheridan in February 2010 as the director of campus life and housing at Sheridan College, where she served for nearly 15 years. In September 2024, Bonnett joined the University of Wyoming Extension as a community vitality and health educator serving Sheridan County Extension.
“I am excited to join the Casper College team and am deeply committed to advancing our ‘Students First’ mission. I look forward to continuing the great work that has been done in helping students succeed and thrive,” said Bonnet.
