City of Mills Semiquincentennial Fireworks Celebration

The City of Mills is proud to announce its intent to celebrate America's Semiquincentennial (250th Anniversary) with a fireworks display.

As part of this historic occasion, Mills is coordinating with the Town of Bar Nunn and the City of Casper to align our celebrations and conduct fireworks displays concurrently across our communities. This collaborative approach is intended to create a unified and meaningful area celebration of our nation's milestone.

The City of Mills will produce its own fireworks show and will have fully staffed fire personnel and police on-site to monitor conditions and mitigate fire risk. There will be no public viewing area. Instead, we encourage you to find a spot where you normally watch the Casper show.

We recognize the seriousness of current fire conditions. Due to significantly below average moisture levels year over year, fire danger in our region remains high. The City of Mills strongly urges all residents to be mindful of the risks associated with personal fireworks and open flames, both within city limits and in surrounding county areas. Mills City Ordinance 8.03.010: personal fireworks are illegal to discharge in city limits. Due to the serious risk of fires this historic red flag season, the Police Department will investigate and enforce fireworks violations.

Public safety remains our highest priority. In the event of any fire occurring near the time of the scheduled fireworks display, city resources will be redirected to emergency response and the fireworks show will be canceled. Additionally, if an active wildfire is present in the area, the city may cancel the event due to available staffing.

We ask all residents to exercise sound judgment and prioritize safety in their celebrations. We encourage the community to be a positive influence on the anticipated celebration and to help us ensure that the event moves forward as planned.

We look forward to commemorating this historic milestone alongside our neighbors in Casper and Bar Nunn and celebrating safely as a community.
