The Casper Area Chamber of Commerce serves as the voice of business for the Casper region. We connect businesses through advocacy, networking, leadership development, workforce initiatives, education, and strategic partnerships that strengthen our local economy. As we enter an exciting new chapter focused on sustainable growth, increased member value, and stronger community partnerships, we are seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization and serve as a visible champion for Casper's business community.

Position Overview

The Executive Director serves as the Chamber's chief executive officer and chief revenue driver, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This leader is responsible for membership growth, revenue generation, community leadership, staff development, financial stewardship, and operational excellence while advancing the Chamber's mission and long-term impact.
This is a highly visible, community-facing leadership position. While responsible for overseeing the Chamber's day-to-day operations, the Executive Director is expected to spend significant time building relationships with members, prospective members, community partners, elected officials, and business leaders throughout the Casper area. Success in this role is built on visibility, accessibility, and active engagement in the business community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead membership growth, retention, and diversified revenue generation.
  • Provide strategic leadership and execute the Chamber's strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors.
  • Represent the Chamber with businesses, government, economic development organizations, educational institutions, and community partners.
  • Provide strategic oversight of marketing, communications, and brand messaging to support membership growth and community engagement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Chamber staff while fostering a culture of accountability and exceptional member service.
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, nonprofit compliance, and organizational operations.
  • Serve as the Chamber's primary spokesperson through public speaking, advocacy, and community engagement.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this position will be measured by the Executive Director's ability to:
  • Grow and retain Chamber membership.
  • Increase sponsorship and non-dues revenue.
  • Strengthen member engagement and satisfaction.
  • Maintain sound financial stewardship and organizational sustainability.
  • Build meaningful relationships throughout the business community.
  • Successfully execute the Chamber's strategic priorities in partnership with the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience with a strong background in sales, business development, and organizational growth.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships and generating revenue.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience leading teams and managing organizational operations.
  • Understanding of budgeting, nonprofit financial management, governance, and compliance.
  • Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive organizational growth.
  • Chamber, association, nonprofit, or comparable business leadership experience preferred.
