Trinkle Brass Works has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support a tour of communities in western Wyoming by Portable Masterpieces, a salon orchestra of 9 musicians. The tour titled “Celebration: Honoring the Music, Musicians and Composers of American History” is part of the America250 project proposed by the federal government to recognize, celebrate and honor the music, musicians, and composers that will be represented in the National Garden of American Heroes. Coinciding with the Semiquincentennial creation of the Declaration of Independence, Portable Masterpieces will honor the contributions of American composers and musicians, performing concerts that inspire the audience to reflect on the ideals of independence through America’s rich history of stories and music. The performance scheduled for Casper will take place on Saturday, June 27 at 7:00 pm at Wheeler Concert Hall on the Casper College campus. For more information contact Trinkle Brass Works. Admission will be open to the public without charge however freewill donations are welcomed. Portable Masterpieces, an integral part of Trinkle Brass Works, is a salon orchestra performing light classical, ragtime, operetta, and period music of the orchestras in the old opera theaters in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The ensemble brings to life the ambiance and experience of the vaudeville stage for modern audiences. The concert in Casper is sponsored and financially supported through the generosity of local patrons in the community, an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
