DESCRIPTION:Come to The NIC for a Didgeridoo Workshop: Playing an Australian Wind Instrument on Thursday\, October 4th from 4 - 6pm. ?Ages 5 and up welcome. This event is FREE!\n\n\n\nAustralian native Paul Taylor brings to life the beauty of Aboriginal percussion and didgeridoo\, an Aboriginal Australian wind instrument made from hollow wood and known for its drone sound and percussive rhythms. Using pvc pipe we will make 2 didgeridoos\, form a mouthpieces\; learn playing\, breathing techniques\, basic rhythm and culture\; and finish with painting using the traditional colors. Paul Taylor will be also presenting "Aboriginal Skies" on October 5\, 2018 at 7pm at the Casper Planetarium\, sponsored by ARTCORE. \n\n\n\nPaul trained in theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London\, and worked professionally as an actor and stage manager in Australia's regional theatres as well as a circus clown performing throughout England\, Scotland and Wales. He is a 2015 recipient of the Wyoming Governor's Arts Award\, traveling the US\, performing and conducting hands-on interactive sessions for planetariums\, schools\, colleges\, museums\, libraries and community centers. His performances combine Australian storytelling with Aboriginal culture and legends\, instrumental music on didgeridoo and other traditional instruments\, and traditional European/Australian songs laced with drama and dance.
