DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, April 13\, 2019 at 7:30 PM   9:30 PM\n\n \n\nOur Saviour's Lutheran Church\n\n318 E 6th St\, Casper\, Wyoming 82601\n\n \n\nNathan Baker is the music theory coordinator at Casper College where he teaches courses in music theory\, music technology\, and film and video game music. He also teaches private lessons in trombone performance and music composition. In addition to his teaching and research (which will be featured in two forthcoming books on music theory pedagogy)\, Baker is an active performer on the trombone. \n\n \n\nBaker is second trombonist with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra\, principal trombonist with the Casper Municipal Band\, a member of the Dem Bones trombone quintet\, and has played with the Yellowstone Big Band\, the Blues Brothers\, the Casper Brass and Storm Door Company\, and in various musical theatre productions at Utah State University\, the University of Oregon\, and Casper College. \n\n \n\nBaker is originally from Missoula\, Montana and received the B.Mus. in music education and music composition from Utah State University in 2002\, where he studied trombone with Dr. Todd Fallis\; earned the M.A. in music theory from the University of Oregon in 2006\, where he studied trombone with Dr. Jeff Williams\; and completed the coursework for the Ph.D. in music theory and music history from the University of Oregon.\n\n \n\nCo-Sponsored by the Casper Journal.
